Systems Integration is a broad category of skills that entails making custom or commercial products and platforms provide new or enhanced functionality within the larger overall context of workgroup, campus, or enterprise information systems.
b-i's Systems Integration skills are focused on maintaining expert, hands-on proficiency with mainstream commercial products in the key categories of databases, business applications (ERP, MRP, CRM), middleware, server software, and mainstream productivity software. Our Systems Integration staff has deployed, configured, administered, managed, monitored, and supported more than 80 of these products, ranging from Microsoft Exchange Server to Oracle's database products to SAP's business applications. Our Systems Integration skills span several disciplines: solution architect - b-i Solution Architects are responsible for the overall design of systems integration architectures, such as a solution to integrate a legacy transaction processing application with a Siebel CRM system. Solution Architects lead the technical teams that execute those projects, and work closely with our clients to ensure that designs and deliverables are wholly aligned with business and technical requirements. All of b-i's Solution Architects are seasoned consultants, with ten or more years of systems integration experience, and the majority have previously worked at former-"Big 5" services firms, or other global firms. Most of our Solutions Architects have academic backgrounds in Computer Science and hold one or more platform, product, or architectural certifications from companies that include Microsoft, Novell, Sun, and Cisco. business analyst - b-i Business Analysts are responsible for capturing, articulating, modeling, and specifying detailed requirements and plans. Our Business Analysts typically have business domain experience within multiple industry verticals, and they leverage this experience to gain a deep understanding of our clients' business objectives and environment. Business Analysts use tools like UML models and data flow diagrams to build detailed specifications that can be implemented by our technical staff. Most of b-i's Business Analysts hold academic credentials in Management Information Science (MIS), Information Technology, or Computer Science. database developer - Databases are at the heart of most enterprise computing systems, and b-i has made a major investment in building a strong competency in Database Development. Our Database Developers are experienced in a wide range of database management products, ranging from legacy database systems (such as CICS/IMS) to relational database management systems (including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2) to business intelligence and data warehousing products (including SAS, Informatica, and Data Junction). systems analyst - Systems Analysts typically do the majority of hands-on work on a systems integration project. They are the skilled technical experts who have deep familiarity with the specific products that are being deployed or integrated on a project. b-i's roster of product competencies is long and continuously growing, but some of the key products are as follows:
